You're right, it's odd. Did a fresh install of 1.96A on another flash drive and both live isos worked. Ver 1.96A was the first ever e2b for me, and I used the QEMU on both the installer and RMPrepUSB quite a lot. This time, I didn't use QEMU. Could it be that some corruption occurs through menu emulation?
