The type cannot be changed.
RMPrepUSB will tell you what type it is.
If it is Removable type then it is OK.
E2B only WARNS if any drive is over 128GB - it does not say that it will not work - it just says that Fixed disks will not work.
E2B (grub4dos) cannot distinguish between fixed and removable property - so it just looks at size and warns user if over 128GB because it is probably a HDD.
P.S. Many BIOSes have a USb driver bug and cannot access sectors past 137GB. For this reason, I don't recommend using a Removable USB Flash drive that is over 128GiB because if you make a 2nd partition it cannot be seen by Windows and this causes issues.
