1.71 should be faster.
Have you done careful comparison using same freshly formatted USB device?
You can use
set SHOWTIME=1
in \_ISO\MyE2B.cfg to tell you what is taking the most time before menu is shown.
Can you 'update' to 1.65 = fast, update to 1.71=slow, update 1.65=fast to prove your assumption?
