The UTILITIES menu in E2B now has a menu option to test file access speed. 100 loops (1 loop = 1 directory access = dir xx.txt) should take around 1-5 seconds for a typical system. If it is a lot longer than this then you have a very slow USB 'driver' in your BIOS.
Grub4dos is twice as slow at accessing NTFS partitions, so using FAT32 for the E2B drive will help reduce the boot up time.
Because E2B looks at a lot of files and folders during startup, very slow USB drivers can cause delays.
Delete as many files as possible that are not needed from the \_ISO\MAINMENU folder (e.g. help/readme files). See the FAQ page for more help.
