QEMU is slow to boot - may take 20-40 seconds.
Most of my videos are speeded up if I use QEMU.
Best to use VirtualBox which is much faster.
A real system should boot in 15-30 seconds.
In the Utilities menu there is a Measure BIOS USB performance menu entry - what timings do you get on a real system - on my EeePC + USB 2 Corsair 32Gb pendrive I get 100 loops = 10 seconds which is pretty slow as the USB BIOS is very slow.
P.S. Formatting the E2B USB drive as FAT32 should improve the boot speed.
