Most mini-Windows have a /sources/boot,wim file which is loaded into RAM. If you have this then you cannot make changes to it.
You can extract the contents of the ISO directly to your E2B drive and then use a /_ISO/MAINMENU/Mini8.mnu file containing
title Mini-Win8
chainloader /bootmgr

OR
you can use the MPI toolpack to make a .imgPTN file from the ISO.
