I realized after reading my post back I had not made a couple of things clear for others to follow in my original post.
Firstly that I copied all of the files from my first Easy2Boot drive to the new one Except The grldr file , VERY important to know ,
as the newer file created on the drive when formatted with RMPrep usb
(the newest version 2.1.730A) is better so dont overwrite it!!
I would also like to explain that in order to use the newer
Qemu_x86_x64.exe
files I first Installed the newer version in a booted windows 64bit machine then copied ALL of the files from the installation directory
C:\Program Files\Qemu -
to the E2B drive Qemu folder -
which in my case is -
K:\E2B\_ISO\docs\BOOT_ME_USING_QEMU\QEMU
(Substitute Your own E2B Drive letter for K:\)
Then copied the
C:\ProgramFiles\Qemu\Qemu_x86_x64.exe
to the Desktop, Rename it to Qemu.exe
and then cut and paste it back into the E2B Qemu folder
K:\E2B\_ISO\docs\BOOT_ME_USING_QEMU\QEMU
folder , again substitute the K:\ for your own drive letter,
I also set the memory for Qemu emulator to the MAX for my system RAM (in my case 8GB) Which is why it loads super fast when booted from BIOS menu, I did this by editing the
K:\_ISO\docs\BOOT_ME_USING_QEMU\QEMU_Boot_Me.cmd
(line 13) set MEM=8192
You need to change this everytime you update the drive to the newest version as RoboCopy overwrites this file when it updates the drive from the
UPDATE_E2B_DRIVE.CMD found in the newest downloaded version folder.
I would like to point out however that I have Not tried to boot this drive on a REAL not emulated 32bit system to check if this version of Qemu will run on 32bit so please bear this in mind.....
All I do know is that these settings LAG like hell in the 32bit emulator while booted to windows 64bit but absolutely fly from BIOS boot!!
I am not sure if I know anybody with a 32bit system any more to try it!!!
So best only upgrade Qemu on 64bit hardware probably..........if someone can test would be helpful.
Thanks once again Steve for an amazing tool.........
looks brilliant with my own boot screen too!
Awesome Stuff,
